I am happy I just setup a cloud sync task on my Truenas Core to S3. All seems good. However, I understand this is merely a filecopy/sync task and doesn't it make more sense to use the ZFS superpowers of snapshots to backup? So that I could restore all system-level properties of the files, not merely their existence? And even rollback to previous points in time if necessary!
I am by no means expert on ZFS and such, so I am struggling to figure out how to do this. I can't seem to find a directory or mount point where the snapshots are stored. And I can find remarkably little information about how to do this online. Can anyone give me some pointers about this?
